Tim: You've probably noticed that ants are hard pest to control. Even though, most types of ants here in Middle Tennessee are simply a nuisance, they can be hard to get rid of. Do it yourself ant control is often not effective. Just when you think you've got them all, "Yaah, there's another one." In order to effectively rid yourself of ants in Middle Tennessee, our team at All American Pest Control suggests these 6 crucial steps.

Step 1: Don't Kill the Ants

Anna: Don't kill the ants! It's the hardest thing that we are going to ask you to do, because it's the first instinct that you want to do. But as you are killing the ants, the Queen is wondering why her worker ants have not come back with the food. She will send another wave of ants. Ultimately, if you kill the ants, it has a ripple effect. One, when our technician comes out, we can't find the source. We don't know where they're coming from. You may in that in between stage where the Queen ant hasn't sent the second wave out, so we're having to bait in areas where we're not sure it's going to work. It just prolongs the issue that you're going to have. Don't kill the ants, especially after we treat as well, we want them to feed off the bait that we put out there. It really works in your best interest. The ants are working with you and with us to get rid of themselves, if you just let them bait.

Step 2: Call the Professionals

Aaron: I don't know how many times I've heard from customers that they've tried and tried to get rid of ants, and they just keep coming back. They're very tenacious, the Queen, the soldiers, all of them. They will just keep coming back constantly. We know what to look for, and we know how to take care of them and get rid of them, and make them go away for good.

Step 3: Inspection to Find the Source

Jim: The reason why inspection is important is to find the colony and the access point for the colony for your home. If we can find the colony and eliminate that problem, we have a much better chance of solving the issue more permanently versus a temporary fix of killing a few ants that you see.

Step 4: Bait

John: We use bait in our approach on ant control, because bait works in a different way from our chemical control. Ants will carry bait back to their colonies to kill their entire colony, just like they would a cookie crumb from your kitchen floor. We have several different types of bait that we use in and around your house, because ants want different type of things to eat at different times of the year. They may want protein once. They may want carbs, so we actually have bait stations where we can put all those different baits in, and the ants can choose what they want based upon what the colony is demanding. We don't have to guess that. We give them whatever they could possibly want. That way we can achieve success sooner.

Step 5: Perimeter Preventative Applications

Steve: That's essential, because our materials our professionals use, give the ants the time that is needed to go back to the colony, to the house, spread the material, that is huge. That is how you get rid of ants.

Step 6: Follow Up

Lexus: It may take a couple visits out to your home to get rid of the ants completely, so we'll call you in a couple weeks just to check on you. If the ants are completely gone, perfect. If not, then we'll talk at that time about sending a technician back out to determine what we can do to get rid of them.

Tim: If you've got an ant probably in your Middle Tennessee home, contact us today. Our ant control program is a great way to get rid of the ants that you're seeing now and prevent new colonies from forming in the future.
